I've always been fond of backend programming using Java. I think this is because I was exposed to Java in my college and also at work, but I’ve definitely liked it more than other languages. One other thing that I really love is frontend web development. To be clear, I’m not talking about HTML/CSS and all the technicalities that are involved in lining up divs
perfectly with each other or centering an img
with an h1
. I've used Angular in my first job and I really loved coding frontend stuff. There was a lot of HTML and CSS involved there, but most of it could be interpreted from existing code. I didn’t have to reinvent the wheel. But the TypeScript part was really interesting.
I read somewhere that Angular was more popular than React, in India, versus the rest of the world, so I started learning more about it. The momentum dropped soon and it was hard to keep in touch with it after I left my job and came to Ireland. Here, everyone loves React. To be frank, I tried learning React back when I was in India, but I didn’t really appreciate it. But seeing it now and comparing it with Angular, I feel like it does a lot of things in a less complicated manner.
This post is sort of a log that I want to keep updating when I accomplish something in my learning journey. I want to be an intermediate React developer, not because I want a job as a frontend developer, but for the sheer interest.
