ASWIN RAJEEV

I've always been fond of backend programming using Java. I think this is because I was exposed to Java in my college and also at work, but I’ve definitely liked it more than other languages. One other thing that I really love is frontend web development. To be clear, I’m not talking about HTML/CSS and all the technicalities that are involved in lining up divs perfectly with each other or centering an img with an h1. I've used Angular in my first job and I really loved coding frontend stuff. There was a lot of HTML and CSS involved there, but most of it could be interpreted from existing code. I didn’t have to reinvent the wheel. But the TypeScript part was really interesting.

I read somewhere that Angular was more popular than React, in India, versus the rest of the world, so I started learning more about it. The momentum dropped soon and it was hard to keep in touch with it after I left my job and came to Ireland. Here, everyone loves React. To be frank, I tried learning React back when I was in India, but I didn’t really appreciate it. But seeing it now and comparing it with Angular, I feel like it does a lot of things in a less complicated manner.

This post is sort of a log that I want to keep updating when I accomplish something in my learning journey. I want to be an intermediate React developer, not because I want a job as a frontend developer, but for the sheer interest.
